Russells Transport have been to TOP GEAR this week providing specialist covered car transport and delivering the new Dodge Viper - now called the SRT Viper to The Stig and TOP GEAR. The car was flown over from the United States for filming at the Dunsfold Aerodrome where Top Gear are based.

The Dodge SRT Viper was flown into Prestwick airport, late on the sunday evening where our staff were on site to receive it on behalf of TOP GEAR and the Stig using specialist covered car transport.
The Dodge SRT Viper was then transported down to Dunsfold overnight for filming with TOP GEAR and The Stig over the next few days. The Dodge SRT Viper was then delivered back from Top Gear to Heathrow airport to be flown back to America.

The 2013 Dodge SRT Viper boasts a whopping 8.4-litre V10, good for 640bhp and 600lb ft. That latter figure is a new world record for a normally aspirated road car engine, says Chrysler; 600lb ft of twist is nearly 100 more more than a V12 Lamborghini Aventador. The Dodge SRT Viper has a carbon fibre bonnet, roof and boot lid, which has whittled weight down to 1455kg, some 55 kilos lighter than the old car, and a huge 50 per cent stiffer. And there's an upgraded version of Dodge's 8.4-litre V10 producing - in basic form - 640bhp and 600lb ft of torque. That makes it the torqueiest naturally aspirated engine to be fitted to a sports car... ever.
Official performance figures have been kept quiet so far, but given that the Dodge SRTViper gets launch control on its six-speed manual transmission and wears 355-section rubber on the driven rears, 60mph in less than 4 seconds and over 200mph flat out is certainly possible!
