Russells Transport recently transported two Lola B11/80 LMP2 race cars to LHR Heathrow International Airport for shipment out to America for the American Le Mans Series - The 24 Hours of Le Mans. The race cars were also accompanied by a number of freight boxes containing Lola Race Car spares.

Based in Huntingdon, England, Lola Cars International Ltd is a race car engineering company founded in 1958 by Eric Broadley, and was one of the largest and oldest race car manufacturer in the world. Lola Cars International was acquired by Martin Biranne in 1958.
The Automobile Club de L'Ouest (ACO), the French Racing Club, who are also the largest automotive group in France, organize and run the world famous Le Mans 24 hour endurance race held every year at the Circuit de la Sarthe on the outskirts of Le Mans. This year the 24 Hours of Le Mans organizers reduced the LMP2 class model effectively back to LMP1 in oder to reduce overall costs and bring in a new cost-capped LMP2 class.
Lola were among the first to announce a 2011-spec LMP2 car in July of 2010. Both chassis and engine are subject to the cost restrictions with the price of the car limited at EUR 345,000 and the engine at EUR 75,000. This engine also has to be directly derived from a production unit and needs to last at least 30 hours between rebuilds.
