A consignment of two Porsche GT3 Cup race cars destined for America was carried out by Russells Transport - Russells Vehicle Management and Towing this week.  The Porsche GT3 Cup race cars were picked up from Germany and delivered to London Heathrow Airport ready to be flown to America.

A Russells Vehicle Management and Towing two car covered transporter was sent down to the Porsche Manufacturing plant in Weissach near Stuttgart, Germany.

The Porsche 997 GT3 Cup race cars were then transitted back to the UK where they were delivered directly into the airline at London Heathrow Airport.  The race cars are due to fly out tomorrow to San Francisco, America.

The Porsche 997 is the internal designation for the Porsche 911 model manufactured and sold by German manufacturer Porsche between 2004 (as Model Year 2005) and 2012. Production of the Carrera and Carrera S coupés began in early 2004.  The Porsche 997 GT3 was originally introduced in GTE (GT2) spec in 2007 and then was extensively modified the following year.  The Porsche  997 is the most commercially successful 911 of all time, having sold 100,000 units of the first generation alone. Built to conform to the A.C.O. “LM” GTE regulations, the 911 represents the crowning pinnacle of a range of successful customer sport race cars that are based on the 997 type 911 GT3 RS street sports car.  The Porsche 997 GT3 engine is rated at 415 PS (305 kW; 409 hp) and 405 N·m (299 lb·ft). It has an 8400 rpm redline which is the same as the 612 bhp (456 kW; 620 PS) Carrera GTs.  All Porsche 997 models include standard 6-speed manual transmission.
