The nitty gritty
How does covered car transport work?
This specialised option encloses your entire vehicle within a closed trailer for the duration of the trip. This is often the preferred transport for high-value, classic, exotic, or luxury cars, as well as not-yet-released concept cars. The added protection shields the vehicle from weather, road debris, and potential vandalism.
In addition to the heightened privacy and safety, each Russell's covered car transporter in our fleet comes equipped to handle a variety of needs, ranging from low-approach loaders, soft over-the-wheel tie-down straps, and winches for non-running vehicles.
Enhanced insurance and specialty handling is also included in this option. Our drivers are experienced in loading, securing, and unloading high-end vehicles.
This is the option for those seeking the highest level of care and protection for their vehicle or vehicles.
When to choose it
Is covered car transport the right choice for you?
This depends on what you’re looking to transport and the conditions of the journey.
When it's right
For High-Value or Classic Cars
The added protection against weather, debris, and theft is worth it for those transporting luxury, antique, or classic vehicles. For Prototype, Test, or Race Cars
Not only does this transport option protect them physically, but it also helps them avoid unwanted attention. For Vehicles with Exterior Detailing
If your vehicle has a new, expensive paint job or is easily damaged, covered transport is the safest way to preserve it.In Harsh or Unpredictable Weather
Snow, hail, rain, or unknown weather call for this more secure transport option. When Moving Long Distances
This is the service you’ll want if your vehicle needs to be shipped across the country or continent.
When it may not be necessary
Tight Budget
As this option tends to be more expensive, this may not be the right choice.Everyday Vehicle Move
If your car is your daily vehicle and not especially high-end or rare, you may not need the extra protection and can opt for uncovered transport instead.Short Distances, Good Weather
When the risks are lower, an uncovered transport option will likely suffice.
